4.1 Therapeutic indications

Designated by:
- Adjuvant Treatment of hematoma, bruising, swelling, edema.
- Prevention and treatment of superficial thrombophlebitis and infiltration by intravenous infusions or injections.

2. KWALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION


Active ingredient: mucopolysaccharides polysulphated 300 mg per 100 g.

3. PHARMACEUTICAL FORM


HIRUDOID is in the form of gel and the form of cream , externally, cutaneous use.

4.2 Posology and method of administration


Several times a day 3 to 5 cm gel or cream (or if necessary more, for example at the beginning of treatment) on and around the affected area application. The gel on the skin evenly distribute the light massage cream. At very painful inflammation or in the presence of thrombus, HIRUDOID cream gently divide the affected area and surrounding it, and then cover with a gauze compress eg. 4.4 Special warnings and precautions for use:


HIRUDOID Avoid contact with open wounds, eyes or mucous membranes.

HIRUDOID Cream


contains:
- cetostearyl alcohol which may cause local skin reactions (eg contact).
- methyl (E218) and propyl (E216): these compounds may trigger allergic reactions (possibly after a certain period).

HIRUDOID Gel


includes:
- propylene glycol, which irritation of the skin may cause.

4.6 Pregnancy and lactation


The clinical experience does not suggest teratogenic effects. While no objective data available, however, we avoid applying HIRUDOID large areas of skin during pregnancy and lactation.

4.8 Undesirable


Stoornissenvan the skin and subcutaneous tissues: Rare (between 1/10.000 and 1/1.000): hypersensitivity reactions occur in the form of erythema. Usually these symptoms disappear after treatment interruption, which in this case is called.

4.5 Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction


Do not combine with other
