Desomedine contains a disinfectant and is indicated for the treatment of:
• Bacterial , purulent infection of the outer membrane of the eye ( conjunctiva) ,
caused by susceptible bacteria ;
• Infection of the surface of the eye ;
• Infection of the eyelids ;
• Chronic infections of the tear ducts .
Desomedine is also used in the disinfection of the conjunctival sac ( space between
eyelid and eyeball ) before surgery .


2. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE USING Desomedine
Use Desomedine not
- If you are ( hypersensitive) allergic to Hexamidine diisethionaat or any of the
other ingredients of Desomedine .
Take special care with Desomedine

• Avoid prolonged or repeated use . To prolonged or frequent use
of Desomedine , the germs are resistant to the product. therefore
it is recommended not to exceed . treatment duration of 8 days
• With an eye infection is wearing contact lenses contraindicated during the whole
treatment duration .
• If no improvement is observed quickly or in the case of new symptoms such as
red or painful eye or vision problems , one should stop treatment and
consult a physician.
Taking other medicines
In case you other eye drops with another active ingredient used simultaneously must
keep a time of at least 15 minutes between instillations of different
eye drops .
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken
used . This includes medicines obtained without a prescription.
Pregnancy and lactation
At this moment, it does not have a contraindication for the use of Desomedine during
pregnant or breastfeeding.
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine .
Driving and using machines
Desomedine has no influence on the visual acuity and can thus be used during
driving and using machines .


3. HOW TO USE Desomedine
Always use Desomedine exactly as your doctor . refer to
your doctor or pharmacist .
The usual dose is : a drop in the conjunctival sac ( space between the eyelids and
eyeball ) of 4 to 6 times per day . To facilitate the instillation of the eye drops
look up , and pull the lower eyelid down slightly .
Do not touch the eye with the tip of the bottle .
Instructions for proper use of the resealable vials:
Create a vial from the strip. Turn the cap to open the bottle and drop in the
eye . Put after instillation the cap upside down on the vial , so as to close the vial. Back after
opening remains the contents of the flask kept for a day , so that during this
the day may be used. Use every day a new resealable vial.
What to do if you use more than you should Desomedine

Given the quantities of the pack , the accidental ingestion by the oral route in
principle are not a problem .
If you have used too much of Desomedine please immediately contact your
doctor , your pharmacist or poison control center ( 070/245.245 ) .
What to do if you forget to use Desomedine
Drop a new dose Desomedine when you find you have forgotten the previous ,
but do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
If you have any questions about using this medicine , ask your doctor or pharmacist .


4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Desomedine Like all medicines can cause side effects , although not
everybody gets them .
A hypersensitivity reaction (allergy ) may occur in the form of redness
eye, swelling and redness of the eyelids , and itching .
If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effects not listed in this
not listed in this leaflet, please tell your doctor or pharmacist .


5 . STORING Desomedine
Store below 25 ° C in the original package .
Keep out of the reach and sight of children.
Desomedine not use after the expiry date which is stated on the vial after EXP .
The expiry date refers to the last day of that month .
Desomedine , 10 ml vial :
After the first opening remains the solution is stored for 30 days .
Desomedine , resealable vial of 0.6 ml:
After opening the aluminum pouch , resealable bottles still remain stored for 30 days .
Opened once resealable bottle , the solution is maintained throughout the day , even allowing
this can still be used. throughout the day
The resealable vial should be closed after use and at the end of the day
be discarded.
