Therapeutic Indications:

Symptomatic treatment of short duration of nasal congestion associated with some diseases (in particular: the case of coryza, rhinitis, sinusitis, otitis media and as supportive treatment in the decongestion of the nasopharynx).

Naphazolini Nitra - Cetrimidum - Calcii propionas - Acidum benzoïcum - Propyleneglycolum - Polysorbas 80 - Rosae etherolum syntheticum derog 42/420 - Aqua qs purificata ad 1 ml.

Pharmaceutical form:

Nasal solution.

Dosage and use:

Adults and children over 7 years.

1 to 2 vaporisaties 2 to 3 times per day in each nostril.
vaporization corresponds to a 0.1 ml (0.05 mg nafazolinenitraat).
Not more than 12 vaporisaties (ca 0.6 mg nafazolinenitraat) a day.

not use in following cases:
Hypersensitivity to any component of the solution and other sympathomimetic amines.
Children younger than 7 years.
Patients with hypertension, arrhythmia or hyperthyroidism.

Special precautions:

not use in patients treated with MAO inhibitors because of the risk of severe hypertension due to the inhibition of the vasopressieve amines. One must wait 15 days after stopping the MAO inhibitor before starting treatment with nafazoline.
Not prophylactic or prolonged use.
Neusinol The solution is not administered to children younger than 7 years.
The solution is not swallowed.

Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding:

The administration is not recommended during pregnancy and lactation because nafazolinenitraat accidentally could reach the bloodstream.

Undesirable effects:

cephalea, insomnia, palpitations may occur with prolonged use of high doses, especially in young children and elderly.
nafazolinenitraat a sensation of burning or irritation near the nose and throat. An agonist can hyperaemia and secondary iatrogenic cause rhinitis.

Effect on driving or operating machinery:

Neusinol does not affect the driving or operating machinery.


When the child.

Rare cases of poisoning have been described as a result of accidental ingestion or administration of high doses. The toxic dose would be situated on 0.5 mg/10 kg body weight (single dose).
