Therapeutic Indications:

Antiseptics are not sterile, but temporarily reduce the number of micro-organisms.
Disinfection of small skin lesions: superficial wounds and minor injuries, minor cuts, abrasions, insect bites and schroeiwonden.
Cleaning the skin (eg disinfection of hands before you make a connection to the affected areas, or before it begins a surgery), reducing the number of germs .

Qualitative and quantitative composition:


Active ingredient:
2.00 mg benzalkonium chloride 50%.

Posology and method of administration:


Spray:
Aspirate the solution 2 to 3 times a day on the wound.
Solution:
transfer using a sterile compress and allow to dry without wiping, 2 to 3 applications per day.
If the treatment area was washed prior with soap and water, all traces of soap are thoroughly washed. After each wash, the application be renewed.
Solution for cutaneous use (local external use on skin).

Contraindications:


Allergic, eczematous prurigineuze or skin diseases.
Known hypersensitivity to quaternary ammonium salts.
Do not apply to mucous membranes (especially the eyes) or erosive skin diseases.

Special warnings and precautions for use:


Cedium Benzalkonium not swallow. To avoid lengthy and frequent application. No occlusive dressing use. Not with soap! Once a package of a medicinal preparation is opened, there is a risk of microbial contamination. Any skin injury associated with fever should also be treated with a systemic infectiewerend preparation.

Pregnancy and lactation:


To date, no adverse effects reported were due to the use of Benzalkonium Cedium, even at the beginning of the pregnancy.
Since benzalkonium chloride in the blood was not found, it is also highly unlikely that it would pass into breast milk.

Side effects:


Some transient irritation of the skin (following the reaction to keratin) such as erythema, irritation, burning sensation may occur but usually disappear after 10 to 15 minutes. In contact with mucous membranes (eye, vagina) can cause erosive lesions that can be ulcereus or necrotic. Especially with repetitive or prolonged application so may result in skin sensitization. Does not stain linen.

Overdose:


Overdose is possible if large quantities of the solution, either accidentally or by carelessness or inattention, are swallowed.
Signs of intoxication.

Nausea and vomiting. Muscle relaxation by depolarization, as signs of dyspnoea, cyanosis, asphyxia due to paralysis of respiratory muscles. Depression of the central nervous system, possibly preceded by convulsions.
Antidote.

There is no antidote.
Treatment.

aspiration of gastric contents, gastric lavage (restrictions apply foaming), administration of milk, protein or adsorptive carbon.
Symptomatic treatment in the hospital: respiratory assistance, treatment of shock. Treatment of convulsions with iv diazepam

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction:


Quaternary ammonium salts are surfactants and are therefore very sensitive to environmental factors: physico-chemical incompatibilities and inactivation.
Inactivation of The antiseptic power by: - surface-active ions (soap, detergents) - Hard water - organic substances containing protein (blood, pus) - non-ionic compounds (polysorbates, lecithin).
Because of possible interference (antagonism, inactivation), the concomitant or sequential use of other local antiseptics or other drugs are avoided.
