Loperamide AB 2 mg orodisp. tabl. 20

Place the orodispersible tablet on the tongue. The tablet melts immediately on the tongue and can be swallowed.

it is not necessary to take extra fluid.

The recommended dosage is:

• Initiate treatment of acute diarrhea with the starting dose.

• Thereafter, the subsequent dose should be taken after each loose stool.

• The maximum daily dose should not be exceeded

What substances are in this product?

- The active substance in this medicine is loperamide hydrochloride. Each orodispersible tablet contains 2 mg

loperamide hydrochloride.

- The other ingredients in this medicine are croscarmellose sodium, aspartame (E951), magnesium stearate, mannitol, fruit flavouring (contains: acacia gum E414, sugar (sucrose), maltodextrin (potatoes), triacetin, propylene glycol), banana flavouring (contains: maltodextrin (maize))

When should you not use this medicine?

• You are allergic to any of the ingredients of this medicine.


• your child is younger than 15 years old


• you suffer from conditions where a delay in intestinal transit should be avoided, e.g. abdominal distention,
  
  constipation and intestinal obstruction


• Loperamide AB should be discontinued immediately in case of constipation, abdominal distention or
  
  intestinal obstruction (ileus).


• you suffer from diarrhea with fever and/or bloody stools (acute dysentery)


• you suffer from diarrhea that occurs during or after taking antibiotics


• you suffer from intestinal inflammation with diarrhea caused by bacteria (such as Salmonella, Shigella and Campylobacter)


• you are suffering from an acute episode of ulcerative colitis (a form of inflammatory bowel disease)
