Therapeutic Indications:

Symptomatic treatment of painful diseases of the mouth and throat, including pharyngitis, laryngitis, sore throat and after almond extract.

Qualitative and quantitative composition:

1 ml dichlorobenzylalcohol throat spray contains 4.46 mg, 2.23 mg and 6.0 mg lidocaine amylmetacresol.
Each contains zuigpastille 1.2 mg dichlorobenzylalcohol, 0.6 mg and 2.0 mg amylmetacresol lidocaine hydrochloride.Voor excipients, see 'List of excipients.

Pharmaceutical form:

Strepsils + Lidocaine, throat spray is a red solution.
Strepsils + Lidocaine, sucking pastilles are round light blue-green pastilles.

Posology and method of administration:

Strepsils + Lidocaine can be used by adults and children over 12 years.
Throat Spray .
Two sprays, if necessary, repeated every 2 h up to 8 times per day (24 hours).
Instructions: Place the spray unit in horizontal position, place in the mouth and press with the index finger on the stop. The spray should not be inhaled.
Suction Pastilles. All
2 to 3 hours one pastille slowly melt in the mouth.
Than 8 pastilles per day (24 hours).

Contraindications:

Special warnings and precautions for use:

Side effects:

Systemic reactions to date have not reported and are generally only after prolonged treatment (see 'Overdose') .

Overdose:

Given the low levels of active ingredients overdose is virtually impossible.
In case of abnormal use (much higher doses, lesions of the mucous membranes) may prevent overdose. This manifests itself initially by excessive anesthesia of the upper air and digestive system. Systemic reactions may be due to the absorption of lidocaine action. The most serious effects of lidocaïneintoxicatie in the central nervous system (insomnia, restlessness, agitation and respiratory depression) and on the cardiovascular system; methaemoglobinaemie may also occur.
Treatment is symptomatic and supportive, medical observation is required. Methaemoglobinaemie can be treated by an immediate intravenous injection of methylene blue (1 to 4 mg / kg).

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction:

To date, no interactions with Strepsils + Lidocaine reported.
Strepsils does not interact with antibiotics, what possible use associated makes.
