Xylomaris is a nasal medicine (a decongestant) and contains the alpha-sympathomimetic xylometazoline.

Xylometazoline has vasoconstrictive properties and thus reduces swelling of the nasal mucosa.

What Xylomaris contains

The active ingredient is xylometazoline hydrochloride.

1 ml of nasal spray solution contains 1 mg of xylometazoline hydrochloride.

Each spray (of approximately 0.09 ml of solution) contains 0.09 mg of xylometazoline hydrochloride.

The other ingredients are: seawater, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, purified water.

Xylomaris must not be used,

• if you are allergic to xylometazoline hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6.

• in a specific form of chronic cold (rhinitis sicca)

• after surgical removal of the pituitary gland via the nose (transphenoidal hypophysectomy) or other surgical procedures that expose the outer skin of the brain (dura mater)

• for children under 6 years of age
